What is Ag Wetland Mitigation Banking?

South Dakota Farm Bureau is the sponsor of the South Dakota Ag Wetland Mitigation Bank program through a federal grant from USDA NRCS. The goal of the program is to work with landowners to establish ag wetland banks on their properties by restoring, enhancing, or creating wetland functions and values.

Committed to the Future of South Dakota

Farmers are among the best stewards of the land. It is our mission to help them realize the fullest potential of their acres and turn non-profiting land towards a more sustainable purpose. Through ag wetland mitigation banking, we can improve wetlands, increase habitat and protect the environment for future generations.

A Partnership for Conservation

Together with the NRCS, we provide assistance to those seeking to restore or create wetlands and purchase available credits. We understand that the process may feel complex. That’s why our team is dedicated to simplifying the details and walking alongside producers.
